Ancaster Forest & Nature School: A Holistic Elementary Learning Experience

At Ancaster Forest & Nature School, our Elementary Program builds upon the strong foundation of our nature-based early years, supporting children as they grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Through hands-on, inquiry-driven learning in both outdoor classrooms and thoughtfully designed indoor spaces, students develop curiosity, confidence, and a deep connection to the natural world. Small group learning and personalized instruction allow each child to progress at their own pace while building strong relationships, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning. 

AFNS Elementary Program 

The Elementary Program at Ancaster Forest & Nature School is a small, private, high-quality, and child-centered program, offering bespoke learning experiences that nurture each child’s holistic development—academically, socially, emotionally, and creatively. 

Our Elementary Program expands alongside our students, introducing a new grade each year as the program develops. 

The Elementary program is designed as a multi-aged, small-group environment, where children

spanning a few years in age learn together. Each student receives individualized lessons and

guidance tailored to their developmental level, allowing them to progress at their own pace while benefiting from a supportive, collaborative community of peers. Through this approach, children develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning, while enjoying the unique advantages of a nature-based, individualized, holistic educational experience.
