Ancaster Forest & Nature School: A Holistic Elementary Learning Experience

The Trailblazer Elementary Program builds upon the strong foundation of our nature-based early years, supporting children as they grow academically, socially, emotionally and creatively.

Our program uses the Ontario Elementary Curriculum as its academic foundation, thoughtfully integrated with our forest school curriculum. Through hands-on, inquiry-driven learning in outdoor classrooms and intentionally designed indoor spaces, children develop essential academic skills while building curiosity, confidence and a meaningful connection to the natural world.

The program is led by an Ontario Certified Teacher and a Designated Early Childhood Educator. Together, they create responsive learning experiences that recognize each child’s strengths, interests and developmental needs.

With a maximum class size of 16, educators are able to provide personalized guidance, meaningful small-group instruction and opportunities for every child to feel known and supported.

Our private Elementary Program offers a small, multi-age environment where children across several ages and stages learn together.

Individualized instruction allows each child to progress at their own pace, while collaborative learning encourages children to share ideas, build relationships and learn from one another. This balanced approach nurtures confidence, independence, resilience and a genuine love of learning.

Our Elementary Program grows with our students, introducing an additional grade each year as they progress. This provides children and families with continuity, stability and a strong sense of belonging within a familiar school community.

Learning extends far beyond the walls of a traditional classroom. Through exploration, inquiry and meaningful hands-on experiences, children strengthen their academic skills while developing creativity, practical capabilities and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
